Wiebe ter Bals, CEO Sunshine Coast Environment Council, calls on those Sunshine Coast community members who have contributed to creating a sustainable future for the region, to come forward and be celebrated.
‘This community is full of innovative people who are seeking to provide environmental excellence and we want to support their outstanding achievements,’ says Wiebe. ‘Each year, the Sunshine Coast Environment Council recognises businesses, schools, community groups and individuals who have made significant efforts in environmental sustainability in the region. The Sunshine Coast Environment Awards (Froggies) have been a part of the Coast’s culture for 17 years now.’
The Awards attract a wide range of exceptional nominations each year. Nominations are now open in the categories of:

  • Business
  • Event
  • School
  • Government
  • Individual
  • Not for Profit Organisation

‘I encourage everybody in the region to participate in this great event. You can nominate, sponsor a category or just come along on the night and listen to the inspiring stories of those dedicated people in the region, who have a passion for our beautiful Sunshine Coast,’ says Wiebe.
Special guests include Environment Minister, Andrew Powell; Sunshine Coast Council Mayor, Cr Mark Jamieson; Cr Tony Wellington; Cr Jason O’Pray and Cr Rick Baberowski.
The Awards presentation will be held 5 October 2012 at TAFE Mooloolaba, from 5.45pm.
