Sunshine Coast Police and members from Taskforce Maxima have conducted a number of raids on storage sheds and residences in relation to drug distribution networks operating across the SunshineCoast over the last two days.
This has resulted in 16 people being arrested and charged with 40 drug related matters ranging from drug trafficking, drug supply and possession of dangerous drugs.
During these raids police have allegedly seized chemicals, methylamphetamines, cannabis and cash.
A number of people charged and addresses searched are alleged to have links with the Rebels Criminal Motorcycle Gang operating on the SunshineCoast, or have links with declared criminal organisations.
Detective Inspector David Drinnen said: “The arrests will have a significant impact on the supply of dangerous drugs on the Sunshine Coast District and crime in general. We’re committed to reducing the negative impacts of dangerous drugs on our community and we will continue to dismantle these networks.”
