“This health precinct will create employment and infrastructure required to create up to 50,000 new jobs in the health and education sector in the next twenty years, which is vitally important for the coast” said Mr Slipper. ”The proposed Training and Vocational Education Centre will be adjacent to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital.”
Sunshine Coast TAFE, along with key stakeholders Sunshine Coast Council, Queensland Health and USC, will oversee the planning of the health and well‐being precinct, which will include a multi‐use development providing a 9000m2 facility with a multi storey green‐star rated building.
“This world‐class learning precinct created by these training facilities will put Sunshine Coast on the map as a premier education destination” said Ross Hepsworth, Institute Director Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE.
The final outcome of the application is expected to be announced the second half of 2012.
