Applications for this year’s 2021 Sundale Community Foundation (SCF) Grants round will open 16 July – close 31 August 2021, for community grants between $1,000-$10,000.
SCF was established in 2015 by Sundale Ltd with the aim of extending the charitable influence of Sundale through financial grants for worthy projects in Nambour and its environs. $1 million was gifted by Sundale Ltd to kick-start the Community Foundation; and thanks to the SCF Board of volunteers that money has been invested and earnings from those funds are distributed to community grants each year.
SCF Board Chair, Caroline Hutchinson says, “We are very proud to announce this year’s Sundale Community Foundation grant round, to date this small board of volunteers has provided close to $150,000 in funds to worthy local community groups in the Nambour and surrounding areas.”
‘In 2020 partnering with Sundale Limited ($15,000), and Ken Mills Toyota ($5000), we collectively provided $57,836 in grants to: Palmwoods C&K Kindy, Nambour State College P&C, QPCYWA – Sunshine Coast PCYC, St Vincent de Paul Society Qld, Guides Queensland – Nambour District, Little Dreamers Australia, Nambour Special School, Adopt Change, Nambour Rugby Union Football Club, Nambour Meals on Wheels Service Inc, Hear and Say- Centre for Deaf Children Ltd (Sunshine Coast) and the Woombye Snakes FC. To guide community groups in applying for grants the SCF Board will also host a grants information afternoon, and welcome community groups to attend: Thursday 22 July, 4-5pm, Nambour Tramway Terminus 28 Mill Street Nambour.

To be considered for a grant, the applicant will need to demonstrate how it meets one the following criteria.
– Improved outcomes for People who are homeless and / or at risk of homelessness.
– Children and young people (0 – 18 years).
– Indigenous Australians.
– Racial and ethnic minorities.
– People experiencing mental illness.
– People experiencing chronic conditions.
– People experiencing disability.
– Other individuals in need.
