Sunshine Coast TAFE fashion students are dressing to impress in a Great Gatsby themed fashion parade next month at Mooloolaba campus.
The annual parade showcases the innovative designs of graduating students studying Applied Fashion Design and Technology.
The parade may help kick start some promising careers, much like that of graduate Crizanne Bracken whose designs were chosen for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Brisbane earlier this year.
Crizanne said the opportunity to showcase her creations in front of leading Australian designers and retailers gave her brand much-needed exposure.
“It was an invaluable experience to be part of a group regarded as the next generation of designers,’’ Crizanne said.
Fashion teacher Amanda Knights said she agreed that the end of year parade was a fantastic launching pad for the graduating students, which will give them the chance to put into practice everything they’d learnt.
“The fashion parade is a fabulous experience for our students and gives them the chance to show off all the hard work they’ve been putting in over the year, from creating the initial design, through to sewing the garment, to finally seeing it presented on the catwalk,” she said.
The signature event titled ‘Now or Never’ will be held on Thursday 7 November from 6.00pm, with tickets expected to sell out this opening week.
Guests are encouraged to style their fashions in Great Gatsby theme to celebrate the night of fun and fashion.
Tickets are $55 each including admission and canapés on arrival and can be purchased by contacting Sunshine Coast TAFE on 07 5457 1000.
