The Pacific Chamber Players will be presenting their final and third concert for the year at Maroochydore and Caloundra in September. The Maroochydore concert is held at Stella Maris Catholic Church on Friday 14th September at 7.30pm. The concert at Caloundra will be held on Sunday 16th September at 2pm.
With a leaning towards French composers, the programme will consist of Bourdeau’s Premier solo for Bassoon and Piano, Saint Saens’ Septet for 2 violins, viola, cello, bass, trumpet and piano and Divertissement for Bassoon and strings by Francaix. To complete this delightful programme, the Chamber Players will then perform Haydn’s Piano Trio No 3 in C, Hob XV 27 and Schubert’s Nocturne in Eb, D897, Op. 148.
Featured musicians will be trumpeter Warren Brewer and flautist, Sharelle Guest from Coolum. Neil Heymink, bassoon, Janet Brewer, piano and Julie-Anne O’Reilly and Jenny Vandenberg, violins, Andrew Paszkowski, viola, Anne Bowyer, cello and Nik Davey, double bass will also be performing.
The Pacific Chamber Players have built up a reputation for presenting a varied and enjoyable programme from musicians of a very high standard on the Sunshine Coast.
Tickets are available at the door – adults $25, Concessions $20, $15 group of eight persons, $5 children (15 years and under).
A portion of ticket sales is donated to cancer research remembering the founder of the chamber orchestra, flautist Debra Tetley, who died of cancer herself.
Afternoon tea will be available at the conclusion of the concert.
