Sunshine Coast Council wants to hear what’s important to you about Beerwah and how best to create the kind of place that you want to live in.
Division 1 Councillor Anna Grosskreutz said the first of two community engagement campaigns will start next week.
“Council wants to learn first hand what the community says are the important qualities and values that should be recognised about Beerwah.
“Council will conduct a number of engagement opportunities starting next week and continuing through until the end of January. These opportunities range from attendance at community meetings, presentations at the Chamber of Commerce, school visits, street walks and meet with traders and commuter events. Details of these activities are posted on council’s website.
“I encourage people to get involved and have their say about Beerwah to understand the views, visions, hopes and dreams of locals, community organisations, businesses and anyone with an interest in this community.
“Come and have your say at a “Growing Beerwah” community forum on Wednesday 23 November at 9.30am to 12.30pm in the Beerwah Community Hall.
“Don’t worry if you can’t make it in person, you can also respond through the online discussion forum or quick survey on council’s website,” Cr Grosskreutz said.
Follow the link from council’s website via “About Council”, ”Community Engagement”, “Have Your Say” any time between 7 November 2011 and 30 January 2012.
There will be a second round of engagement when council officers will set up working groups with interested community members to begin really shaping and guiding the future growth in Beerwah.
The information gathered from these consultations will be integral in drafting council’s Place Making Action Plan for Beerwah.
