Steve Cooper, CEO of SCDL said, “In addition to our promotion at the Expos, we have a major Flight Centre Sunshine Coast/Gold Coast advertising campaign that will commence this weekend in New Zealand. We want Sunshine Coast to be top of mind for our Kiwi friends to keep coming back to our region.”
While New Zealand is not a new target for the region it is a market that has always shown strong visitation and is an extremely valuable market to the Sunshine Coast bringing the most international visitors, around 71,000 to the end of September 2011 and making up just over 29 percent of our total international visitors.
“Kiwi visitors traditionally stay longer and spend well with local businesses, which is why it is important for us to continue to attend and put our best foot forward at the travel expo shows and provide vital updates for agents in New Zealand,” added Mr Cooper.
Product Manager meetings and trade training will also be undertaken with key travel partners in New Zealand to update on new Sunshine Coast accommodation, attractions, latest trends and packages.
