SEA LIFE Mooloolaba will celebrate its 25th birthday in two weeks and to prepare for the party the team held a giant spring clean today with staff on land and underwater scrubbing, vacuuming, sweeping and polishing to have the beloved Queensland attraction spick and span for their guests.
The clean is part of the regular cleaning and maintenance days undertaken at SEA LIFE Mooloolaba in order to keep the aquariums and facilities in pristine condition.
But it’s no ordinary cleaning job: over the past 25 years staff have swept over 1.5 million metres of tunnel alone (that’s approximately 6,000,000 brush strokes) and vacuumed and scrubbed 300,000 sqm of tank gravel and pool floor.
The big day on the 30th of September will see a whole world of fun with a giant cake, a plaque unveiling and huge celebrations for visitors. Throughout September the attraction will be offering great savings on website ticket sales and plenty more fun in the lead up.
