Palmer Coolum Resort will host ‘A Perfect Night with Leo Sayer’ next month as one of the world’s most famous and best loved pop performers brings his esteemed live show to the Sunshine Coast.
Held at the resort’s Pavilion on Tuesday 11 December (7.00pm), the singer-songwriter’s concert will celebrate a career that has covered four decades and included dozens of smash hits such as ‘The Show Must Go On’, ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’ and ‘When I Need You’.
Now a naturalised Australian, Sayer has appeared live in New York’s Central Park, the Royal Albert Hall, the Las Vegas Hilton, Wembley Arena and the Olympic Stadium in Moscow.
In 2010 Sayer headlined a huge Australia Day concert at Sydney’s Darling Harbour which was witnessed by a huge live audience with many more watching on television.
Sayer’s hunger for performing is as strong as ever and he will appear at Palmer Coolum Resort after an extensive UK tour throughout November.
In what will be a treat for Sunshine Coast music fans, Sayer will be supported by one of Australia’s most accomplished artists, the legendary Glenn Shorrock.
The singer-songwriter who shot to fame with the Little River Band, was honoured by APRA (Australian Performing Right Association) in 2001 when they named the Shorrock-penned ‘Cool Change’ as one of the top 30 Australian songs of all time.
Twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, once in 1991 in his own right and again with The Little River Band in 2004, Shorrock is Australian musical royalty who continues to perform all over the country with his band.
Palmer Coolum Resort General Manager, Bill Schoch, said securing the concert was a coup for the region.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have these two musical legends on the same bill at the resort and it’s sure to be a great night,” Mr Schoch said.
“Leo Sayer’s work spans generations and Glenn Shorrock has written some of the finest music ever heard in Australia. It’s a concert for all ages,” he added.
