Sunshine Coast Council’s Local Disaster Management Centre has moved to ‘stand down’ status’ – however the recovery and clean-up will continue.
Disaster Management Coordinator Andrew Ryan said the severe weather warning has been cancelled for our region.
“Many creeks, drains and causeways are full or overflowing, and many roads remain closed or have water over them – people are still being urged to take extreme care.
“Residents need to remember, if it’s flooded, forget it.
“Don’t put yours and others’ lives at risk by attempting to cross flooded roads, turn back and find an alternative route.
“Parents please keep a close watch on your children to ensure they don’t play or swim in floodwaters.”
For assistance during floods or storms contact the State Emergency Service (SES) on 132 500 or by downloading the SES Assistance App from iTunes or Google Play. For life-threatening emergencies dial Triple Zero (000).
