Police are appealing for public assistance following an assault that occurred at a national park at Noosa yesterday.
Around 9am, a 16-year old boy was on a walking track near Dolphin Point when he was approached by a man carrying a surf board. The man raised the end of his surfboard hitting the boy in the face.
The boy was in the company of a friend and both were also carrying surfboards. It is believed that the group exchanged words while surfing at Granite Bay earlier that morning.
The man is described as being approximately 60-years of age, Caucasian in appearance, 175cm tall and solid build with grey short hair. He was wearing dark blue board shorts a long sleeve black sun shirt and carrying a dark blue fiberglass board with black stripes on the back.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any activity around the time on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers or Noosa police station on 5440 8111.
