High-quality aged care services group Arcare has today celebrated the opening of its new Peregian Springs facility, with the creation of 90 new jobs.
The company has also announced it intends to build a second facility in Maroochydore, in turn creating another 90 jobs when it is completed.
Mayor Mark Jamieson said the new Arcare facility marked the beginning of a long partnership with the company.
“The news that Arcare is making a further commitment to the Sunshine Coast with a proposed facility in Maroochydore is excellent,” he said.
“It shows that businesses like Arcare are sitting up and taking notice of our efforts to strengthen the Sunshine Coast economy.
“Looking at the quality of this centre here at Peregian Springs – it also shows we are attracting a high quality product, too.
“I would like to thank Colin Singh and Arcare for making a commitment to the Coast, and can promise you this council will support you every step of the way as you grow here.”
“We are delighted with the opportunity to provide 5-star aged care to the Sunshine Coast, and our strategy of building state of the art facilities in Peregian Springs and Maroochydore sees us capitalising on this,” Arcare CEO Colin Singh said.
Peter Duffy, Construction Manager for Arcare, said he was “extremely pleased with the cooperation shown by Sunshine Coast Regional Council throughout the construction and certification phase of the project”.
“It’s testimony to the leadership of Mayor Mark Jamieson and his team at council,” he said.
Arcare is a leading provider of aged care services in Victoria and South East Queensland, and specialises in providing community-oriented aged care facilities.
The Peregian Springs facility caters for both low- and high-care residents, providing single rooms with en-suite bathrooms along with small communal living and dining areas. Residents can also enjoy services such as an onsite café, beautifully manicured courtyards and a beauty salon.
