Travelling between Dicky Beach and Currimundi via Battery Hill will now be a more enjoyable experience thanks to Sunshine Coast Council’s Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program.
Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said the $1.1m road refurbishment to Buderim Street in Battery Hill would provide a much smoother, safer journey for locals and people passing through the area.
“Motorists and cyclists will appreciate the completed rehabilitation works along busy Buderim Street from Cooroy Street to Currimundi Road,” he said.
“The major rehabilitation has revitalised the road which had become significantly damaged and uneven in areas.
“The works including profiling, subgrade replacement as necessary, sealing and resurfacing were carried out over the full width of the road
“Works started in October and were completed on 26 November 2012
“Due to the unforseen soft patches up to a metre below road level at some locations works had to be extended to ensure the best quality outcome was achieved.
“Every precaution was taken to minimise the disruption to local residents’ properties, motorists and pedestrians during the construction. We thank you for your patience.”
