[Video] Australia Zoo today announced that their third rhino calf had been born recently, making it the third to be born in Queensland and the third for Australia Zoo.
The yet to be named male calf was born on the 4th May and weighed approximately 60-70kgs. A competition will be run inviting the public to name the new calf.
At the same time they also announced that one of their giraffes was pregnant with a birth expected by the end of the year.
This would make the birth the first for a giraffe in Queensland.
The public will have the opportunity to see the new baby boy rhino and his half sister Mango, during the June school holidays, beginning 22nd June as part of the Africa exhibit, Queensland’s only multi-species exhibit.
