Auditions are taking place for Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp (written by Maleny’s David Crewe, with original music by Paul Coppens) this Saturday and Sunday at the Playhouse in the Maleny Showgrounds from 2pm-5pm both days. (Girls and boys aged 12 and under 10-12pm on the Sunday morning). The show will open on Friday December 16, with two performances on Saturday 17 and a final matinee on Sunday 18.
Said writer and Director David Crewe: “We’re hoping to see a lot of young people bid for parts in the show, as well as our regular cast members. We know there’s a lot of talent out there locally, and we are keen to encourage new people to come along and try out. Our music director Paul Coppens has written some great tunes, so as well as a script full of laughs, there’s song and dance too. We’re promising fun for the whole family.”
