Maleny Dairies General Manager, Kay Hollyoak is inviting all kids and their families to have a free fun filled day on the farm with loads of activities to keep them entertained – and it’s all in the name of charity! ‘It’s going to be a day of great family fun, with loads of games and craft,’ says Kay.
‘It’s always good to have a heap of fun while you’re doing something worthwhile for the community. As a family business, we’re really focused on providing the best for our own kids so we chose to support SunnyKids – a local Sunshine Coast charity helping disadvantaged children and young people on the Sunshine Coast.’
‘We just want to help all kids be the best that they can be and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. If we can help SunnyKids achieve that goal, then the efforts are worth it,’ says Kay.
The Family Farm Fun Day fundraiser will be held at Maleny Dairies on Saturday, 6th April 2013, from 9am to 2pm. There’ll be egg & spoon races, gum boot throwing competitions and craft tables. Not to mention the chance to pat the farm animals and see how a real farm works!
Chris Turner, CEO SunnyKids smiles as he considers the day. ‘It’s so great to be involved in a family focussed event! What an exciting way to engage the community in fundraising to help our kids break the cycle of disadvantage. This is going to be great fun for the whole family,’ says Chris, ‘whilst raising funds for our work in the community. We’re looking forward to spreading the word and getting people involved!’
So pack up the family, get out into the fresh mountain air and have some serious fun! Fabulous raffle prizes include a 2 night stay at Noosa Blue Resort, accommodation at Wittacork Dairy Cottages for 2 nights and a photographic package valued at $350 from Alicia Aberley Photography.
$9 tours of the working dairy and factory can be booked for the day as well by calling Maleny Dairies on 07 5494 2392. Kids will get to feed the farm animals while on tour and there’s plenty of healthy food choices for morning tea and lunch too!
