Scholarship applications are now open for students wishing to enrol in Year 8 at Kawana Waters State College (KWSC) in 2013 — and if last year is anything to go by, there is likely to be some stiff competition.
Kawana Waters State College Deputy Principal Elly Gerbo said the quality of scholarship applicants had been extremely high in previous years and she looked forward to awarding a further eight students a $400 scholarship for academic and sporting excellence, community service and leadership this year.
“It is always so difficult to select the eight recipients as the calibre of applicants is consistently outstanding and there are so many worthy candidates,” Ms Gerbo said.
“In past years, we have awarded scholarships to students from a range of local primary schools, including Talara Primary College and Currimundi State School; applications aren’t limited to students attending KWSC’s primary campus.”
