A couple from New Zealand are enjoying a Sunshine Coast Hinterland escape thanks to an online competition run by Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL).
Winners of the New Zealand Yahoo! Digital competition, Colin and Linda Moore, will travel, play and stay at some of the region’s best spots from 20 to 25 August.
Owner of Montville Country Cabins, Christine Kardash, said she was thrilled to house the competition winners during their Hinterland escape.
“Colin and Linda will get three nights in one of our luxury rooms with a spa and fireplace – the perfect place to spend a winter holiday,” she said.
“It’s been great working with SCDL to promote the Sunshine Coast to our Kiwi neighbours.”
Chairman of SCDL, Barrie Adams, said the competition helped to increase awareness of the direct Air New Zealand flights from June to October.
“More than 6000 Kiwis entered the 12 week online campaign. By entering they were exposed to beautiful images of the region and reminded how easy it is to ‘cross the ditch’ thanks to the Air NZ flights,” he said.
“The New Zealand market is one of our most successful and important international markets with more than 60,000 Kiwis visiting us last year.”
Colin and Linda flew to the Sunshine Coast on Air New Zealand with transfers from SunAir Bus Service.
While on the Sunshine Coast, they will stay in Montville Country Cabins and Treehouses of Montville. They will also get free entry to The Ginger Factory, Aussie World and Maleny Botanical Gardens.
