It's East V West as Cooroy businesses battle it out

The long running friendly feud between businesses on the east and west side of the Cooroy train tracks will be officially waged in the Wimmers East Versus West Tug of War at Christmas in Cooroy.
“Last year this was a great addition to the program and the challenge was quickly taken up by enthusiastic traders on both sides of the tracks. It is one of those quirky events that really suit Christmas in Cooroy and we were keen to add it to the program permanently. Wimmers Soft Drinks have come on board as a sponsor to make it a reality and we know it is going to be even more exciting and fun this year,” said event Manager, Danielle Taylor.
Last year there was just one heat with a mixed team but this year there will be a male and female heat with teams of eight. The Wimmers East Versus West Tug of War will be held at 6pm straight after the Bendigo Bank Street Parade. It should be a great spectacle and lots of fun to watch. So come down and give the traders your support by cheering them on in Apex Park on 1 December!
