[Video]The Sunshine Coast Hinterland tourism industry will benefit from a new cohesive and collaborative promotion campaign.
Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP welcomed the renewed and re-focused commitment to deliver a complete package of options to persuade travellers to the region.
“It is all about working together and harnessing the skills and contacts we all have to benefit the growing tourism potential for the Hinterland.
“To see tourism bodies like Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL), Tourism Fraser Coast, Tourism Noosa and others working together in partnership to deliver a package of options for visitors is truly a stroke of genius,” Mr Powell said.
“Instead of competing with one another an approach will be designed so that everyone works together to highlight the strengths of each region and market this into a one stop holiday shop for tourists.
“There was a time the green behind the Sunshine Coast golden beaches was ignored in tourism promotions.
“This approach promotes everything worth seeing across the region from the spectacular accommodation providers, to chef hat rated restaurants and the Hinterland walking tracks and parks.”
This latest announcement coincides with the Newman Government’s ‘Make the Most of the Moment’ campaign launched last week that will run until the end of June.
“This new campaign aims to entice more Australians to the Sunshine Coast Region and to ‘Make the Most of the Moment’ while they are here.
“The Hinterland region has so much to offer visitors, and with so many ‘moments’ to be enjoyed all over the Sunshine Coast it makes sense to share this with our fellow Australians, and in fact, the rest of the world.”
