Agricultural shows in the Glass House electorate will get a $38,094 boost with funding announced by the Newman Government.
The money has been allocated through Local Government Minister David Crisafulli’s grants program and is designed to ensure communities throughout the region continue to host these signature events.
Member for Glass House Andrew Powell MP said the funding for the shows was a vote of confidence by the State in the important role local shows play in communities.
“We all know that money is tight this year,” Mr Powell said.
“We have a responsibility to make sure every cent counts, and bringing people together to showcase the best in the region, whether it’s cattle, produce or cooking, is a tradition we’re proud to support.”

  • The Glass House funding includes:
  • Woodford AP&I Assoc $6,598
  • Maleny Show Society $11,262
  • Caboolture and District Pastoral, Agricultural and Industrial Assoc $20,234

Many show societies have reported that without State support their annual show would fold.
“The real heroes are the Show Society members who put in dedicated efforts, in many cases year after year, to provide this highlight for local people.”
