Playground Replacements – at Corella, Martin Rungert, South River Drive Parks
I am happy to advise that the replacement of playground equipment in the following Corella Park; Landsborough, Martin Rungert Park and South River Drive Park; Mooloolah Valley is due to commence 28 November 2011.
Martin Rungert Park – fenced area – the train in the junior area is to be refurbished. The junior fort, 1 x rocker and 4 way rocker are to be removed and replaced with a Xylubug, Mantis Horn, Single Sprinter, Spider Web and 4 way rocker.
Martin Rungert Park – open area – the fort and swing unity is to be replaced. The equipment may look like there is nothing wrong with it to the general public, however the bottom of the posts are rotting and some items are no longer up to most recent Australian Standards. This equipment will be replaced with a vary similar unity which will have galvanised steel footing to prevent premature rotting. The new play area will also include a sing, new fort, rubber wear pads and turf batter.
Corella Park – the existing rocker and deck/fort unity will be replaced, however the swing including the rubber wear pad will remain. The new equipment will include a spider rocker, maypole, deck, rubber wear pad and turf batter.
South River Drive Park – the existing equipment; fort and swing will be removed and replaced. A new deck and swing will be installed, including a rubber wear pad and turf batter.
These Installations are expected to take 3 weeks. The Contractor (The Play Works) will endeavour to have one play area in Martin Rungert Park opened to the public at all possible times. Project signage has been put up advising that works are due to commence.

Arts Connect Inc – is a Blackall Range based arts organisation. They seek to implement new opportunities for members and hold a monthly art market ‘Artists on the Green’, which features work from local artists & craftspersons and is held the 3rd Sunday each month from 9.30-3.00 on the Montville Village Green.
Other initiatives are ‘Sculpture on the Edge’, collaborating with Open Gardens and in August the successful Creative Spaces-Open Studio program. For more details see www.artsconnectinc.com.au.
Supported by Sunshine Coast Regional Council, ‘Artists on the Green’ is where members can set up a stall to sell good quality artworks, with no middle men and no competitive marketing they can present their work in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Few markets in Australia are genuine artist markets. It is this uniqueness that brought the Better Homes and Gardens team to Montville in October. With a full day filming on the Green, a range of talented members were presented in their Nov 11th Eye on Oz showcase. Also on the show, Kirsten Cash demonstrated her wonderfully creative lanterns in her Witta studio. Congratulation Arts Connect Inc, for the wonderful service you are providing to the general public.
