“We always have a support (rescue) motor boat alongside all children’s sailing and this new outboard motor ensures we have equipment that is reliable at a moment’s notice,” he said.
“Due to our increasing member numbers, the club recently bought an additional support boat and a new motor for another of our safety rescue boats. We also had to undertake $30,000 in repairs and refurbishments to our clubhouse and canteen after the 2011 floods so this assistance from council was much needed!
“Maroochy Sailing Club is growing in popularity with young people and children and our membership has nearly doubled over the past three years.
“Safety is the number one priority for all of our members and thanks to this generous grant from Cr O’Pray we can now ensure our high standards are maintained.”
