****The Sunshine Coast’s biggest turtle lover has begun his role as a ‘Young Turtle Crusader’ as he stepped into UnderWater World on a grand mission – to help the world’s majestic sea turtles.

Eight year old, Kyle O’Connell from Tewantin was a special guest at the attraction, to undertake a number of exciting activities after he was crowned winner of UnderWater World’s ‘Young Turtle Crusader’ competition last December.

The team at UnderWater World were thrilled to have Kyle at the attraction, which allowed him the opportunity to shadow one of Underwater World’s turtle experts.

UnderWater World received an overwhelming 150 entrants in the grand search for their ‘Young Turtle Crusader’ last year and has seen a significant amount of inspiring turtle lovers across the Sunshine Coast.

Throughout the year, the Young Turtle Crusader will follow the progress of injured turtles, see first hand how turtles are cared for in the turtle hospital and witness the release of rehabilitated turtles back to the ocean.
Kyle is passionate about animals and especially marinelife.
Kyle is quick to spread the message on what we can do to help keep our oceans and waterways clean and safe for all marinelife.
