Young people on the Sunshine Coast are encouraged to nominate to be a delegate at an international Youth Summit this year.
Member for Fisher Mal Brough said the Youth 20 Summit will be held in Sydney on July 12-15. It is the official youth forum associated with November’s G20 in Brisbane.
“The Y20 is a platform for young people to discuss pressing global economic issues,” said Mr Brough. “The broad themes for this year’s summit are growth and jobs, youth unemployment and sustainable economic development.
“The government wants to encourage the widest variety of applications so we can select five young people who can best represent youth from across Australia. It would be fantastic to see someone from the Sunshine Coast as one of Australia’s five delegates.
“I strongly encourage young people to put their names forward.”

The Summit is organised by the Y20 Planning Group with support provided by the Department of Education, which will also manage the selection process for the five Australian delegates.
