The Nicklin Way business placed as runner up in the prestigious industry awards in the ‘Best Fish and Chips’ category, placing a close second to Western Australia based business Sweetlips.
The event showcased the industry’s value to the national economy, its professionalism and commitment to supplying some of the finest seafood in the world to local, national and international markets.
Paul Thomas, owner of Pt Cartwright Seafood Market and a marine biologist for 35 years, said “To be recognised by the Seafood Industry at their National Conference as being one of Australia’s best fish and chip shops, not only for our wonderful product but our dedication in only using only fresh Australian Seafood is fantastic. It is a reflection of the great work and dedication of all our staff in promoting our great local seafood here on the Sunshine Coast”
Pt Cartwright Seafoods Market prides itself on stocking the largest range of freshly caught fish and crustaceans on the Sunshine Coast, with 95% of its fish either caught locally or sourced from Australian waters.
With an emphasis on daily caught seafood, the retail outlet has its own fishermen and trawlers and processes all fish on site, deboning and pin boning providing customers with premium, quality products.
Customers can choose their filleted fish of choice and their preference in cooking: crumbed, battered or the gluten free option, grilled, served up with a portion of chunky cut potato chips. All marinades and sauces, as well as fish and crab stock, are made on site from locally sourced ingredients including fresh herbs from Mr.Thomas’s own garden.
