Clive Palmer Opens Dinosaur Park at Coolum Resort

WITH 160 moving and roaring dinosaurs, Palmersaurus at the Palmer Coolum Resort is one of the largest dinosaur parks in the world and one of the newest attractions to open on the Sunshine Coast in time for the festive season.
Sure to be a great success with children, adults and dinosaur buffs alike, Palmersaurus officially opened to resort guests and the public on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin and federal member for Fairfax, Clive Palmer.
Palmersaurus project manager, Andrew Miller, said the park features a range of dinosaurs, big and small.
“The dinosaurs range in length from 2.5 metres to 22 metres long and have heights spanning one metre right up to 10 metres,” he said.
“There is also a large range of dinosaurs including the favourites such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor’s, Triceratops, and Brachiosaurus’s as well as some lesser known prehistoric creatures including Demetrodon’s, Gastornis and an Ankylosaur.
“Palmersaurus also features several hatchling dinosaurs and the flying variety such as Pteranodon’s and Pterodactylus.”
Palmersaurus is the latest attraction at Palmer Coolum Resort with Palmer Motorama officially opening in November.
Palmersaurus at the Palmer Coolum Resort, 1 Warran Road, Coolum Beach, will be open to resort guests and the general public from 10.00am –9:00pm seven days a week. Palmer Motorama is open to resort guests and the general public from 10.00am – 6.00pm, seven days a week.
Admission prices for one attraction for one adult cost $37.50, children (aged 5-14) $19.00 or a family pass (two adults and three children) for $100. Tickets to visit both attractions are available for $60 for adults, $30 for children or $175 for a family.
