The Sunshine Coast’s iconic Noosa Beach Classic Car Show will this month celebrate 25 years of motoring history, with a special Royal themed event on the Queen’s Jubilee long weekend, September 30th.
The annual show was first held on the Sunshine Coast in 1988, and now attracts thousands of visitors each year.
More than 150 classic vehicles will to be on show for this year’s special milestone, expected to attract even more car enthusiasts from throughout Queensland, interstate and overseas.
Noosa Beach Classic Car Show Chairman Garry Bates said some of Australia’s rarest classic cars will be coming to town for the anniversary celebrations.
“Since announcing this year’s milestone event, with a special focus on the motoring royalty of Rolls-Royce and Bentley, we’ve had hundreds of classic car owners put their hands up to take part in the show,” Mr. Bates said.
“One of the highlights will include the 1967 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, which was used to drive Queen Elizabeth II during her 1973 visit to Sydney.
“The rare piece of Australian motoring history is being brought by the Sir Henry Royce Foundation of Melbourne especially for our Jubilee event.
“We also have a many local collectors bringing their prized vehicles out of the garage for this year’s show.
“Visitors can expect to see around 15 Bentley, and 30 Rolls Royce of many vintages, as well as 100 other classic cars of all makes and models.
“It is going to be a very memorable event, both for the exhibitors and those who come to enjoy this wonderful motoring spectacle.”
The exciting range of classic cars is set to parade along Hastings Street at Noosa Heads, both morning and afternoon and be displayed at Noosa Woods Reserve on Sunday 30 September.
Public Entry is $10 per adult, $5 per concession/teen and $25 per family.
