Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is a booming market town over the Christmas/New Year holidays with lots of opportunities to wander and unwind among stalls offering unique handmade arts and crafts, fashion, jewellery and delicious treats.
First up is the Twilight Markets along The Esplanade at Bulcock Beach on Friday evenings from 4pm to 9pm featuring delicious food, home-made arts and crafts with lots of entertainment for all the family.
The introduction of the Twilight Markets until January 11 means Caloundra hosts a triple treat of market days on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, market lovers can make a fresh start at the Sunshine Coast Bazaar at Corbould Park racecourse from 7am to 1pm. This new market is all undercover and features lots of roving entertainment amongst a broad selection of stalls. Entry is free but there is a voluntary gold coin donation in support of the Make a Wish Foundation.
The Kawana Waters Artisans and Farmers Markets on Saturday from 7am until 12 noon at the southern end of Sportsmans Parade, is renowned for the freshest of local produce, and tasty organic food.
The always popular Markets on Bulcock every Sunday from 8am-1pm is located right in the heart of Caloundra on Bulcock Street, between Otranto Avenue and Knox Avenue. Visitors can browse among over 150 stalls in addition to a thriving retail shopping strip.
Also on Sunday from 7am until midday are the Caloundra Country and Farmers Markets at Currimundi State School offering a great selection of fruit and veg, Asian vegetables, olives yoghurt and cheeses.
