Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle has welcomed the State Government awarding five well-deserved local organisations much needed funding.
Beerwah State High School, Caloundra Tennis Association, Caloundra Community Centre, Caloundra Community Kindergarten Association and Unity College Soccer Club have all received one-off grants after lodging successful applications in Round 73 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).
“This is a much needed boost for these organisations to continue their activities and a huge win for locals,” Mr McArdle said.
“The funds will go towards upgrading facilities and purchasing special equipment.
“Caloundra is very community-oriented, so these funds will certainly go a long way to helping so many people, in particular our students and those in need.”
The GCBF provides one-off grants to Queensland not-for-profit community organisations, with revenues soured from gaming taxes placed on Golden Casket lotteries, wagering, keno and gaming machines.
Total details of the grants are as follows:

  • Beerwah State High School, $31,818.18, performing arts upgrade
  • Caloundra Tennis Association, $31,818.18, installation of tennis courts
  • Caloundra Community Centre, $30,206.36, purchase of office furniture
  • Caloundra Community Kindergarten Association, $5,469.09, purchase plastic pulley blinds
  • Unity College Soccer Club, $18,706.55, upgrade of facilities
