[Video]Last night the details of the 2014 annual BOQ Maroochydore Celebrity Charity Golf Day & Corporate Sports Lunch were revealed at the official event launch at Hello Harry “The Burger Joint”.
Amongst event partners, participants and beneficiaries it was announced that one of the Coast’s favourite events, the annual BOQ Maroochydore Celebrity Charity Golf Day & Corporate Sports Lunch, would once again bring together celebrities, businesses and our charity partner SunnyKids to celebrate and raise funds on Friday 28th November 2014.
Robert DiPierdomenico and Caroline Hutchinson, the hilariously entertaining MCs announced, on behalf of event organizer Debbie Battaglini-Clarke from BOQ Maroochydore, that this year’s event theme is the ‘Clash of the Eras’.
It will see a return of high-profile sports people from the 80s, 90s and today flock to the Pelican Waters Golf Club to join some of the Sunshine Coast’s leading business people in a friendly and entertaining game of golf followed by a Corporate Sports Lunch at Pelican Waters Golf Resort & Spa.
Once again the dynamic duo Dipper and Caroline will return to MC the corporate sports lunch event, which in itself is a whole bag of fun.
As well as entertaining and delighting its participants, the event raises significant funds to support our community through selected charities. The annual golf day to date has netted over $166,000.00 with proceeds donated to local children’s charities including the Sunshine Coast Children’s Therapy Centre, SKoping and SunnyKids.
SunnyKids CEO Chris Turner was delighted to be chosen as the Charity Partner once again and was excited to announce a new partnership with BOQ Maroochydore to support the children in their homelessness service.
“Our target this year is to raise $40,000 to rejuvenate the play ground and provide support services to the children accommodated in three of our apartments throughout the year,” said Chris.
Each year SunnyKids provides up to 10,000 nights’ accommodation to families who have become homeless through family violence. Funds raised by BOQ Maroochydore will be used to provide them with a brighter and safer play ground as well as critical support services that will ensure they experience safe and nurturing parenting, economic stability, success in education and appropriate health care.
The BOQ Maroochydore Celebrity Charity Golf Day and Corporate Sports Lunch is a sell-out event that attracts 144 golfers, 260 guests and over 30 business partners. In the past celebrities such as Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis, Liz Ellis, James Tomkins, Leigh Matthews, Richard Champion, Mark Visser, Henk Vogels, Tony Shaw, Craig Bellamy, Rod Macqueen, Natalie Cook and Tiffany Cherry have been active participants.
