Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie says the QCU was premature with its protest outside his electoral office today given the review into workers compensation had not been completed.
Mr Bleijie said the Government had not made any decision on workers compensation reforms, nor would it until the review of the bi-partisan parliamentary committee was complete.
“As I have said, a decision will not be made on this issue until the committee, which is made up of both Labor and LNP members, has reported back to Parliament in two months,” Mr Bleijie said.
“It is convenient for the union to stage its little political stunt today to get their 15 minutes of fame on the nightly news and then request a meeting with me.
“They are protesting on an issue that has not even been decided, yet they continue to parade around with their usual rhetoric, instilling fear in workers.”
