Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin are leading the charge for an action-packed African adventure at Australia Zoo these school holidays, inviting you to join them in the fun!
“We are so excited to be celebrating the first birthday of our Africa exhibit these school holidays, with stacks of African-themed activities happening over the next two weeks,” Terri said.
Today was also the official launch of the new Bindi’s Bootcamp playground, which has awesome features including a ripper rock climbing wall and heaps of interactive games to play based on Bindi’s latest TV series, giving kids the chance to be part of the action!
“It’s really exciting for kids who have seen the show to be able to come to Australia Zoo and experience the same challenges,” Bindi said.
“I am so thrilled to be back on stage performing with the Jungle Girls, including some brand new African-inspired songs that have never been heard before!”
Kids (and parents!) will love the toe-tapping, hand-clapping tunes of Bindi and the Jungle Girls performing live in the Crocoseum for the first time since 2010, sharing important conservation messages that Bindi is passionate about.
“I’m so excited to have involved our zoo visitors in the planning of Bindi’s new ‘African Dance Party’ show,” Terri said.
“Not only has Bindi added new songs, but is singing about all the adventures she had with her dad, too! Thanks to everyone for their wonderful input!”
Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Robert Irwin is also excited about his new special segment in the daily croc feeding show.
“But I’m not going to tell you what I’m doing, though – you’ll have to come and see for yourself!” Robert said.
Some of the awesome Africa-themed activities happening these school holidays include free African animals mask workshops every day, as well as free African drumming workshops on weekends and a performance by the Watoto Children’s Choir on Friday 28 September.
Fresh from their recent crocodile research trip on a remote part of Cape York, Terri, Bindi, and Robert will also be taking part in a book signing on Friday 28 September for the first 100 guests to purchase Bindi’s latest two books.
Why not also try your luck in our silent auctions and colouring competition. There is also free face painting and a daily major prize draw including animal encounters, movie passes to Hoyts Cinemas, and passes to General Ski at Suncoast Cable Watersports.
