Another fantastic Maleny Agricultural Show

The celebrations for the 75th Maleny Agricultural Show continued over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of June with crowds attending despite the weather conditions to be a part of the festivities, entertainment and history of the Show.
Attendance levels on Friday were great with the Show attracting crowds from local and visiting tourists which will have a positive impact on local businesses, community groups as well as the local economy.
The 75th Celebrations were officially opened on Friday the 1st of June by local district farmer Harold Hopper with special guests including local farmers, Show Girl Krystle Johnston, Charity Person Kylie Wild, Rural Ambassador Felicity Grigor, Junior Show Princess Charlotte Goulter and Runner-Up Belinda Kay all being escorted in vintage and classic cars in and around the Main Arena.
Committee members of the Maleny Show, Andrew Powell Member of Glasshouse, award-winners of the Beef and Dairy Pavilions and the Light Horse Brigade were also involved in the Grand Parade on the Friday afternoon.
Over both Show days crowds were amused and highly entertained by the energetic and enthusiastic ‘Crack-Up Sisters’ who had their audiences rolling in laughter with their comedy and whip cracking routine.
The Rings of Fire proved to be a spectacular that entertained crowd goers on the Friday night while the IGA Rodeo, despite the weather conditions went ahead and thrilled those on Saturday night.
The Dairy, Beef and Poultry Pavilions all proved to showcase extraordinary talent and expertise with winners being announced on both Show days.
Despite the wet weather conditions the Main Ring Horse events continued to schedule.
President of the Maleny Show Society Mr Ivan Hankinson commented on the overall celebrations of the 75th Agricultural Show thanking all the volunteers, sponsors, committee members, stewards and attendees for all their efforts.
“Despite the wet weather on Saturday the Show was a great success and we hope to see all our volunteers, sponsors and show attendees return again next year for our 76th Maleny Agricultural Show on May 31st and June 1st 2013”, said Mr Hankinson.
The 75th Maleny Agricultural Show was a great success so mark your calendar for the 76th celebrations as they are expected to be bigger and better.
