In recent years a number of issues have generated conflict between residents of the Teewah community. Sunshine Coast Council aims to resolve those differences.
Division 12 Councillor Tony Wellington said a draft Road Reserve Management Plan has been developed to provide clarity for the future of Teewah Village.
“For a number a years there has been uncertainty and angst from community members regarding local road reserves. Problems largely related to the alignment of sand tracks as well as matters of encroachment,” he said.
“This Road Reserve Management Plan should provide clarity and consistency for residents and property owners.
“The Plan supports a safe, sustainable road system that will preserve the unique character of Teewah village.”
The Road Reserve Management Plan proposes improvements in the following areas:

  • Alignment of sand tracks
  • Encroachments in road reserves
  • Bollards in road reserves
  • Stormwater drainage
  • Bushfire mitigation
  • Council maintenance protocol
  • Customer request handling

Following adoption of the Teewah Road Reserve Management Plan, a copy of the plan will be distributed to all property owners and or lease holders in Teewah within the next week. Council will communicate with owners of properties adjacent to road reserves prior to undertaking specific actions identified in the plan.
